Mirror Wastes

A vast flat desert with no notable geographical features, the Mirror Wastes are so named because of the mirage that is seen while walking across it during the day, which can extend for what appears to be miles in all directions, making it extremely difficult to navigate.

Geography

"If only there had been even a puddle, I don't think Berud would have died. No matter."   -Ferli Dernuth
The wastes are bordered on the northern side by the Dancing Dunes, which often climb over the wastes during their cycle. Beyond the southern border of the wastes lies Tempest Valley and the Dermies Mountains border the east. The west runs against the coastal plains.   The wastes lack notable geographical features. It is composed of a mostly silicone and salt which has created and strong hard surface that has cracked after decades of seismic activity. There is no known source of water within the wastes with the exception of the Buryu River, which runs along the western edge.   The flat land can receive high speed winds strong enough to carry away even larger beasts. It also can reach temperatures of 115 degrees Fahrenheit.

Natural Resources

"It's a good thing we employed the help of these giants or we might not have ever made it to the dragon's lair alive..."   -From the journal of Finkle Fizzlesprocket
After the destruction of North Gilaan by a dragon and its death on the southern border of the wastes, tales have begun to arise about the potential for an abandoned dragons lair within the wastes. Following the stories in hopes of finding a great buried treasure, explorers have begun pressing deeper into the desert, many without returning. No evidence of any lair has been found.
