Sorida Aari Guards Military Formation in Yonderverse | World Anvil

Sorida Aari Guards

"See them over there? That's an Aari Guard. He's patrolling the area, making sure nobody enters Sorida Castle."
"What happens if you enter?"
"Probably some maiming, mauling, beating, just generally being beaten up. I've seen it before, nobody survives. They have these weird weapons that can duplicate and they seem to control them with their minds,"
— Spying teenagers
The Sorida Aari Guards are a small group of soldiers who patrol Sorida Castle, home of Ery-Ta, the ruler of all Aar-Aori. They circle the castle, watching for any approaching aar-aori. If they find you approaching the castle, expect a stern warning to be told to leave. If you break into the building, you'll probably be killed.

Composition

Manpower

150 soldiers circle Sorida Castle.

Equipment

  • Each guard is equipped with a large machine gun
  • A belt full of various weapons, including:
  • A set of throwing stars
  • Taser
  • Glass sword
  • Iron baton
  • Light gun

Vehicles

Lightbikes are small, mobile vehicles that hover just above ground level, and they are used by Sorida Aari Guards for high-speed chases. These vehicles are expensive, therefore only really limited to the guards, being specially designed by Aar-Aori engineers and scientists.

History

When the guards were formed, nobody really took them seriously, despite the warnings that they would kill you. People still generally stayed away from them, just in case, until a group of teenagers approached them, and received the mandatory warning to leave. They continued to walk towards the castle, until one boy was smacked in the face with an iron baton. Unfortunately, this brutal attack, which ended up as a death, was being livestreamed on social media, causing an outcry from locals. Sadly nothing could be done since the castle and the inhabitants were above the law, so nothing could legally be done about the viciousness of the guards.
