The Empire of Five Kings

The Empire of Five Kings, largely refered to as "The Empire" or "The Imperial Union", consists of the peoples making up the Gehen, Niruken, Panwan, Haton, and Bonsuian. These societies largely ignored or wared with one another before being united by the Divine King Elysian, and the Goddess Rukipen. The ascension of the Goddesses of Life and Death (SImilarly called Dark and Light, Good and Evil, and other such titles.) at the Royal wedding between Elysian of Niruken and Rukipen of Gehen, was taken as a sign of their divinity and right to rule. Elysian took his Goddess wife as confirmation of divinity and lead an amassed army of Gehen and Niruken to eventually conquer lands all the way to the Southern Desert.

Structure

The structure of the empire is far more beauracratic than militaristic. The leaders of the largest cities within regions are given titles, writs to their land, protection, and positions in the Elder council in exchange for tax revenue and soldiers for the military arms of the Kingdom. Each of the Five Kingdoms dedicated to the Empire are also "Sponsors" or "Protectors" of city-states, these effectively help to mitigate the taxation rate implimented by the Empire and to help settle disputes between the Kings under the Imperial Umbrella. City-State wars are incredibly common and have created a myriad of Mercenary works in the area.

Culture

The unification of the Five Kingdoms also created a new wave of inter-empire travel sparking massive change in each of the Kingdoms. New settlers and citizens looking for new lives on now safe new lands was nearly impossible to ignore and thus by the end of the first decade of the empire, nearly a quarter of all kingdoms held citizens from each of the the major Kingdoms/Ethnicites of the Empire.
The dedication to pious religous beliefs were largely pushed by King Elysian, creating the foundation of the first organized Imperial Religion. The Unity of Three was founded to honor the Goddess of Life, The Goddess of Death, and the God of Creation that ascended the two mortals. The ideals of the Three were largely left up to debate and varied wildly between societies. Coastal cities viewed the works of the Goddess of Life far different than the forests more inland. The only true unity can be found in the cities largely occupied by the Trinity churches and Temples of worship. These are found typically in the Capitals or largest Cities.
Military service is ever present in Society and the concept of honor and nobility being gained from military service is pushed heavily. All Kingdoms contribute to the active defence of the Empire, creating a larger sense of Cohesion between the Kingdoms and (Ideally) helping to dissolve previous ill will over old grudges. The Navy and Infantry both took the best ideas of their contributers and actively adjusted to match. The result was a force unmatched until both arcana and nature turned against them at the Desert edge. The campaigns against the Desert, efforts lead originally by Elysians son, Elysian The Second, to unify the "Barbarians tribes of the Desert, that so wholly chose to ignore the Divinity granted to our fair Empire.".
Education is treated as option to the extent that all citizens are given schooling from 8-12 years of age before taking a position in a specialty or returning to their lives and homes. These homes were usually farms, fishing villages, or shepards. Military service provided further schooling, but this was out competed by the schooling and education offered to the members of the Arcane Consortium. During the Third Age the King Nunbankapoize of the Panwan, (literally translates to Wise Justice, a nickname given by the Elder Council), the edict of law stating that higher learning facilities were to be created in association with the Arcane Consortium to better educate a society. This law saw the creation of a college in every city, capital, and City-State currently backed by an Empiral Parent.

Public Agenda

The first few ages saw the Ideals of Expansion and Divine Justice reign in the chaos of the northern most of the Central Continent. After the 5th King, King Vilran of Bonsuian, It changed to a more imperial domination and conquest. Eventually this was returned to its original DIvine Justice intentions after the 5th Kings Eventuall fall. Since then it has remained along the orignal path of Safe Expansion and Divine Justice for All.

Demography and Population

The population of the Empire is spread out amongst its many Kingdoms and City-states with large bodies of settlements located along rivers and coastlines.

Technological Level

The overall levels of tech and science are that of the early ages. Homes, sewage systems, roads, language, school, philosiphy, religion, agriculter, and inventing are all within the bounds. Medical knowledge is largely contained in the realm of magical healing and less in the actual physical healing aspects. Advancements are often being made in the fields of both Engineering and Arcane Engineer (The rather obviously named efforts of the more magically inclined Engineers. Equally as dedicated, only with the occasional breaking of universal laws.)

Religion

The Holy Triumvirate

Foreign Relations

The Empire maintains a general distrust on first encounters and as such is usually in a passive but defensive stance.

Agriculture & Industry

Agriculture is handles by the central cities on both continents and is usually supplied by a single majority source. Farming, Herding, Fishing, and Hunting all contribute to the agricultural conditions present on the daily basis. People are also involved in the typical creations of jewelry, arts, literature, stone works, and the constant flow of new inventions and advancements.

Divinity and Devotion are equal to Strength and Might
