Paluchia Tree Speech

A misnomer, the Paluchia Tree Speech is more a cipher system than actual speech. The Paluchia Confederates memorize this language from an early age. A dictionary is not in existence and the Paluchia plan to keep it that way. The yuan-ti that riddle the mangroves try to learn it, but even with significant torture the Paluchia's will is steel. Their Mulan heritage lends much to their deception and roguish civilization. The yuan-ti and lizardfolk in the region have moved their main forces to Samba Ka, Metzono, and the Bay of Naspin. Attacks still occur, and the war is never ending since the lizardfolk and yuan-ti have some nests deep under the swamps. Nonetheless, the Paluchia claim this small victory to their cryptic Tree Speech.   The symbols themselves range from simple lines to complex arrangements. One symbol is an idea or sentence, so paragraphs can be conveyed with only a dozen ciphers. The arrangement isn't necessary to understanding, just the symbols are enough. For example, one could make the symbol for WATER (fresh) and one for MILES and put them in any order. While this seems confusing to most scholars, the Paluchia seem to correctly infer the meaning 100% of the time. The system of ordering, though goes like this: Date. Us information. Them information. "Us" being obviously the Paluchia, and them being the enemy. Since the Paluchia Mangroves are really set off to their own, they don't have allies outside of themselves, so they do not designate a spot for Other.   The symbols are carved into tree trunks about 4 to 5 feet up. The writing is in descending order, as far down as the message requires. This way, there are only two columns to read and many find it easier this way, especially since the columns are usually not long.
