Culture

Being a Member

We were born into a harsh land that gave us little kindness that our ancestors knew. For we're suffered holding onto what little we had of value to survive these desert lands we call home. It was not until the Sun Sultan guided us to prosperity to rebuild what we had lost long ago. Then we sailed past our waters to see if there were lands beyond the sea that could be claimed as our own to save our people from destruction. Many ships sailed out and every few returned with nothing to show for it until finally a new land was discovered, an entire no less simply known as the Dark Continent that would give us all we need to live on and prosper. From this colonies and resources would come from all around as our power grew and progress brought us wealth and comfort where we no longer had to struggle to survive. Our journey had to lead us to become a power the world had never seen since the times of old as we mastered the seas and the lands under our control. Our fleets carrying out trade with our neighbors and our armies destroyed all who dared face us. This is the destiny that has to lead us to praise that shall not be squandered and never shall we know to suffer again.

What People Think of You

Paranth Sultanate was considered a great power in its day that very few could rival as it was a center of trade and knowledge. Its vast territories were also something to marvel at as well as they were rich in resources and had plenty of space to support its ever-growing population. But from this prosperity came darkness that held a strong grip on them as they seemed to desire more and more wealth and land despite having enough. Led many wars on the Dark Continent and neighboring territories to explore and conquer, with the native populations being forced to fight in conflicts of extermination against them. Along with abusing their colonies to harvest more resources and stripping them of their rights as they were not citizens of their homeland leading to internal conflicts. Even its trade partners were cautious when dealing with them as they often were trying to find ways to exploit them for more wealth.

Public Agenda

To bring prosperity to its people with lands and wealth beyond imagining through the lands that they have discovered and conquered.

Assets

The sultanate has a vast amount of territory full of resources and manpower to exploit. Making them very wealthy in their overseas colonies and tradeposts in many corners of the world. Allowing them to just get about anything that they could ever want with the money they have from ships to mercenaries to maintain their power.

History

Mythical Orgins

The true origins of how the great empire was formed have been lost to time with only the tale of Sun Sultan remaining. A mighty ruler whose wisdom and bravery united the lands of the east under his rule for the first time since the sands has consumed the east and scattered the people into warring states and tribes. During his time he brought progress through sea trade and exploration finding the Green Isles to create fertile lands to farm. He also gathered his people's knowledge to advance them into a prosperous realm. Along with building the first city, known as Akbar to rule. With it being said that he lived for centuries before returning to the sun knowing that mortals had to rule themselves. It is said that all Sultans that have since ruled are a decedent of the Sun Sultan to legitimize their rule.   But there are also other stories as well with it said that the gods favored the sultanate, allowing it to survive its harsh environment. For it was the gods that took back some of the lands that were taken by the desert to create the sacred oasis of Aman’durma that was said to give life to the people who surround it creating the town of Gansha and to give thanks to the gods they created the Great Temple of Elad to honor them for all time. It was from this dedication after many years the gods bless their devoted followers by gifting them a savior that was born from the sun itself, this individual being the later known as the Sun Sultan that would unite the people and form the sultanate.

Age of Exploration

In what would be known as the age of decadence centuries after the departure of the Sun Sultan many more cities would be built to shield the people from their desert homes. But in doing so it leads to overpopulation and disease. Forcing them to search seawards in the hopes of finding new lands to colonize. Many ships were sent out for new lands but did not return. Many lost all hope until the great explorer, Ahlan Juroza Vazem returned with news of new land known as the Dark Continent that was fertile and waiting to be claimed. From this, a great migration would begin towards this new land as colonies sprung from onto its soil. These lands would be claimed by the Sultanate and many more discovered such as the Isles of Refuge that would bring glory and wealth to it as they spread civilization and progress where ever they went in these untamed lands before them.   It is from these new lands that their power rose to greater heights as their people could prosper by looking away from their desert home to lands that would become a paradise. It is from here that new knowledge came forth from these new lands that help bring about a second golden age for the sultanate. Along with a better understanding of the world around them as they explored farther and farther from their domain such as Western Lands as no one before had ever traveled west due to many fears of great evils beyond The Spine that stopped anyone from going. Along with several more islands known as the Kelecomos that they would use as trading outposts to trade with the west. Bring prosperity in trading like never before in their centuries of isolation.

Global Power

Vast wealth and power came with the colonization of the new lands they discovered making them an empire that was both feared and respected. For no Human nation had achieved such a large expanse of land with very few rivals to match them. From these lands resources both exotic and valuable supplied the Sultanate with enough to care for its population that suffered for so long and for centuries would have fertile lands at the expense of the native people of the regions as many wars sought to drive them away or wipe them out. But in time their expansion would come to an end as their power could no longer extend as much as it used to as their many colonies need managing and resources needed to gather and colonists watched over as many sought to break away from them over time. Only to be crushed by the power of military might that kept them in their place.   Along with the sultanate being the envy of all outside of it as looked upon its power from afar. Many of which were from those in the west who despised them for what they did not have. But they also feared it as their power was greater than there’s ever would be and only wished to be on good terms with it for as long as possible. Making the only power in the known world to truly be able to conquer it through its wealth and military might. But they did not bother with world conquest as they were too busy with their own problem at home. For through their search for wealth and power they inevitably became the makers of their destruction.

Disbandment

The Sultanate's fall would be that to disease that would come from their colonies from the Dark Continent with would be known as the Great Plague wiping out much of their population and causing their colonies to rebel and break away from it. With the loss of their largest income of resources the territories of the sultanate fell into chaos leading to its collapse of it through civil war over resources and never fully recovering. While it would last for a few more decades there was no way to have it fully recover from the damage and its remaining territories seceded to become independent states in order to survive.

Territories

The entire Eastern Lands along with Green Isles and many territories occupied by the The Unifed Colonies of Calestra on the Dark Continent have made it to a vast colonial empire.

Military

Grand Army of the Sun: An army that comprised of all peoples from across the sultanate to serve as a great fighting force by gathering many skilled peoples to fight for it. In doing so it will allow all to share in the enteral glory and rewards that come with serving it.   Fleet of the Waves: The ships of the sultanate that sail across the seas to maintain its trade routes and ride off any threats to it. The fleet also acts as merchant ships when they are not needed for combat purposes.   Aroma'hi: a special decision of the military that comprised of mercenaries used to fight for the sultanate often being warned wealth, land, and status if they serve them and defeat its enemies.

Religion

The sole religion of the sultanate was the Emrasera, which centered around several great deities that were based on the elements, the Sun Sultan being one of the most revered of all the other gods.

Foreign Relations

The sultanate was not on good terms with many of its neighbors due to its aggressive expansion and large amounts of influence. Only through their trade were they able to have better their terms with them.

Agriculture & Industry

The Sultanate valued farmland over anything else to allow them to feed their large population with large swaths of land being used just for farming purposes that went on for miles. But the farm areas also produced other things besides food as well, such as cotton, animal furs and many other things that were in high demand. All other resources were scattered about its territory where ever they could find it.

Trade & Transport

Large trade fleets were used to allow greater trade at sea with large amounts of goods begin able to be transported to certain areas in a short amount of time.

Infrastructure

Many great cities of stone have been built across the lands of the sultanate, but the quality of its infrastructure carried greatly on the territory they were in with some not even having roads to travel to.

Colonial Empire

At the height of its power, the sultanate had territories across many parts of the world that gave it much power. Its colonies expanded from the savage lands of the Dark Continent to the mysterious Isles of Refuge increase it influence over all those near them. From these colonies, they harvested many resources to return to the homeland to bring luxury and wealth to their people. But all at the expense of the native populations that were near their lands as they were exported and enslaved by those who invaded their lands.

Wealth Through Exploitation

It always started friendly when a colony or an outpost shows up in some far-off place where the sultanate has yet to make a claim. Often going on friendly terms with the natives to ensure that hostilities do not rise too quickly that the colony may be destroyed. But as soon as it can sustain itself it will slowly take advantage of the natives in the region often offering a trade to lull them into a sense of comfort before pouncing on them like a predator on unsuspecting prey. Leaving to conflict as they try to wipe them out or enslave them as they make all the land around them their own. Many peoples have fallen into this charade over many centuries and only until many realized of danger that the Sultanate posed that their expansion finally ended.

Gateway to Civilization

It was with the Sultanate that civilization came to lands that were savage and untamed as native populations lived in primitive and tribal societies with no real progress to show for it. It was here that the exchange of technology and ideas were shared between people as these peoples began to learn from these new arrivals in their lands and use it to their advantage. This tended to benefit the sultanate as the native then began to favor them as it greatly improved their way of life.

Trouble Abroad

While the sultanate was great and powerful, it had its trouble like anyone else, often from its colonies. While originally the colonies were a place of escape for the people of the sultanate to start over, several generations have passed and now the descendants of the first settlers of the colonies wish to govern themselves and not by the sultanate. Many of them consider it a foreign state that has no care for its interests at heart. Many of its newer colonies are also having trouble as well as rather than new settlers being sent out to colonize these regions, they have been replaced with criminals to form penal colonies and work to pave the way for the actual settlers to start settling into an already made settlement for them. Both are which have been starting rebellions and uprisings to break away from their overlords as best they can, despite being put down with military might.
