Unfyre
How many time do you think that our city was nearly or totally destroyed? So many times, to the point where many felt it would be better to leave the city to rot. We did not let it. We rebuilt, we struggled, we survived! We did not suffer under a cruel empire only to let beings from beyond our world take our city from us! So fight! Fight, like our ancestors did! Fight, like our children will! We will fight and once more, we will win!
History
Unfyre was first founded well before the first contact with the other Realms, during the regime of the Sparkdust Empire. At first, it was a collection of houses and farms made of Weres trying to survive under the rule of the Empire. About 50 years after its founding, a troop of Empire soldiers burned the village to the ground and salted much of the land, all because they were denied what they requested. Where others would have moved on, the population of Unfyre dug in and stayed. Careful cultivation of the nearby forest prevented the town from starving while experimentation with crops and sowing the land began to reverse the effects of the salted land. For another several decades, the small village thrived as the Empire began to crumple around them. Towards the end of the Empire, the village was hit by one of the weapons of the opposing Kingdom of Grynwatr, once more destroying the village and agriculture around it. Yet again, instead of leaving the ruins of the village, the residents began to rebuild as the rest of the Empire continued to burn. This time, the villagers were joined by the former members of both Empire and Kingdom alike. Many of them saw the growing town as their second chance at life and did their best to put aside old grudges, or at least ignore the other side. By the end of the war between the Empire and Kingdom, the town was a bustling hub for much of the surrounding land, with a thriving food forest and prosperous farmland. By the end of the Empire, Unfyre was all but considered its own Kingdom, stretching from the Forest of Grimhyde to the lowest hills of the Glynwide Mountains, its influence ranging farther into the Planvania peninsula.
