Unresting Plateau
Hidden Heblin Sanctuary
This incredibly unique plateau is surrounded by eight, claw-like stone and crystal formations that jut out from the mountainside like clawed fingers clutching the flat, circular terrain within. Over the centuries heblin have used this as a mystical site to hold important gatherings and some caravans gather here every year for their Dark-Heart Revelation.
Perched on the side of an unwelcoming cliff and surrounded by the looming stone formations on all sides, the Unresting Plateau is nearly completely hidden from the plains below. Heblin had searched for this location for generations after a vivid prophecy affected one of the Heart-Seekers fortune tellers with a vision of hundreds of heblin gathered there celebrating in the presence of a powerful god-like being. Even before they knew it's true location the area was thought of as supernatural, ominous, and vitally important to the heblin species.
Drawings and images of the place were passed down through generations, and the first heart-seeker to see it in a vision was prolific in creating artwork that showed the Unresting Plateau from every angle while still leaving he exact location a complete mystery. It was seen as an omen and divine mission for the heblin species to find this place for unknown reasons.
Despite taking hundreds of years for any heblin caravan to finally find it, that very day they witnessed Dark-Heart and Bright-Soul align to create an astounding spectacle of light and movement by shining into the crystal pillars. The result is a vivid miasma of colourful diffused light that writhes and reflects throughout the entire plateau.
Among heblin this place is a very closely guarded secret and very few folks outside of caravan leaders and Heart-Seekers know how to find it along the chain of mountains. There are many legends and tales about the plateau that were invented before its exact location was even discovered that still circulate today despite the fact that most have been disproven since it's discovery.
Localized Phenomena
Due to the location of the plateau and the surrounding stalagmite-like rocky protrusions, when the two suns align during the summer season it creates intense and vivid auroras of light that move and shift like a nebula. The effect is electricity-based and during the event the scent of ozone permeates the entire area.
Although they aren't dangerous, the light does carry a small charge that can amplify the use of the Whorled Beamknit that are used by elite heblin fortune tellers to create their decks of cards.
