Culture and cultural heritage

The seafellows movement began in 7536 SE when the Pale Cuttlefish began to gain more publicity and started being viewed by younger generation as a Vigilante group rather than pirates. They have mostly stayed around the Channel of jewels due to how Mer hunting is less prevalent in cultures to the north and in the archipelago tribes. They do have a small following in large cities across the continent and sometimes receive funding from wealthy Menirvins or Ribanites.

Shared customary codes and values

The main unifying ideal for Seafellows is that races should not exploit or persecute one another for their natural ability's. They are strong supporters of trading between cultures in both goods and artforms, They support music art and food as a means of cultural exchange and encourage trying new things.

Common Etiquette rules

Don't make fun of peoples significant other having a tail instead of legs or vice versa.

Common Dress code

Their dress is similar to the surrounding culture they live in with heavy influences in jewelry and orniment from the opposeing culture.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Wedding traditions are interesting due to the blending of cultures any group may decide to use traditions from each others culture in their weddings, Mer affiliated with the group have began to use jewelry to signify commitment and land dwelling races have began using tattoos for the same purpose.   Interestingly enough most Mer and humans worship the same pantheon and have similar myths in many respects making it easy to integrate religious practices between groups. The most notable difference between Mer religious legend and land dwelling religious legend is the exact way certain deities are viewed. Land and forest deities that are called upon for crop growth by land dwelling races are called for safety on shorelines or protection from harpoon hunters by Mer.   Groups tend to meet near where deep calm water comes up by the shore, on the beach or docks, or if water is unavailable or no water dwellers are in the group they may meet in taverns or homes. Where they meet is often affected by how locals view the group, some have to meet in complete secrecy while others can literally post the date for the next meeting in the town square or even have a time slot during town meetings.

Major organizations

Several Families in both Menerv and Riba'nezz support the the Seafellows as well as the majority of druid enclaves on the continent. One of the more recent connections they have made is with a new group that is located in Menerv that seems to be attempting to integrate a unusual race into society. Though the authors of the letters sent to Seafellow leaders have not elaborated on this they have sent constant correspondence asking for advice in public relations and organizing groups.
