Ethana

Centuries ago, Ethana was a vast realm of holy cities, its rulers chosen by the Gods. After their Banishment, its people grew restless and tension grew substantially until the nation simply imploded.   In its Golden Age, Ethana was a theocratic nation, ruled by a line of celestial-touched Mortals, the ______, thought to be descendants of the Gods. These leaders could, if legend is to be believed, communicate directly with divinity, asking for direction and clarity in times of need. Under holy protection, Ethana shone bright in the Desert, acting as a beacon in the fields of medicine, religion and philosophy. Its golden temples and grandiose solariums became a sought-out attraction all over the world, and many devout priests and clerics would often make the trek to Tar Kasit in search of a holy experience. The rest of the Ethanian cities were home to warmongering armies of devout soldiers, often fighting in the name of their devotion.
