Spiral Cathedral

The Spiral Cathedral is the main building of the marilian church and resides on a hilltop near the central district of Taresh. It is considered to be the most sacred man-made building in the Bohemian Republic. This is the temple of all temples and a sanctuary to the most holy minds that have ever walked these lands. No magic is allowed on its grounds. Only miracles.
This grandiose tower full of stained glass walls and windows depicting the major events of this religion, is the centrum of worship and the organisation of all religious events. Many of the Bohemian charity organisations have their office here as well. The most interesting thing however, it the dual structure of this tower - all staircases connecting the various rooms are on the outside and thorough the entire day you can see monks and nuns walking in enormous heights all around this place. The center of the building is hollow and only the cardinals are allowed to be there. This is where the conclave and other important council hearings take place.
The dungeons leading to the inquisition holding cells have been said to be walled off and exploring the crypts under the tower is considered to be a major crime not only in law perspective but in the moral one as well. Rumours go that this is where people possessed by demons end up, never to be able to see the light of day again.
Even though in the recent modern times the church itself drastically lost its power and influence over the workings of the state and people, due to the very recent and very devastating Great War, the flocks of worshippers seem to gain on strength again. While the cathedral itself used to be a popular tourist spot in the late years of the Empire, nowadays its halls are silent with respect and awe once more. The only thing you can hear is the distant signing of praying officials somewhere above you.
