The duties of maintaining the Warehouses are ones that are menial. True. The Faid need to be cleaned, ordered, inspected for deterioration and inventoried regularly. Many Brothers see such duties a punishment. After all, the only people who come into the Warehouses are the Brothers, so how can damage or loss occur? But, as we know strange things happen in the darkness when eyes are not watching and the world has always delighted us with different and new ways to hinder the Glory of the Devouring Mother and her Dutiful.
I have heard the younger Brothers speak of the mists that are not-mists that collect on the floors of the Warehouses and how even though protected with appropriate ritual, repeat and regalia, they often speak of having a sense of a presence, or a feeling difficult to name. Some even report strange sensations as they walk amongst the Faided, but of course no method of scientific investigation or magical enquiry has revealed any such effects. So, we will continue to conclude that these complaints are the artifacts and creations of the youthful and curious mind. It seems to be the way of youngsters to always seek explanations more complicated then the truth.

Symptoms

This condition is rarely lethal now. However, historically citizens afflicted with this condition have been the unwitting cause of significant social disruption and distress. The Brotherhood has strict protocols about transportation and storage of the Faid.

History

When knowledge of the origin and impacts of this condition where brought to the attention of the Devouring Mother, she ordered that knowledge of this condition be placed under Confidentiality Strictures.
