The Artifact
The fabled item The Adventurers found on the Lost Island, known as the "ultimate seal" due to its properties. Its discovery ended the and sparked the development of Aufyra's capsule-based technology, widely known as Capsule Magic.
The Artifact itself looks similar to a broken, empty eggshell. Currently, it is stored at the Kingdom of Ignis' research facility, and is the subject of much testing and research.
Although a damaged relic, it still gives off extremely high, dangerous levels of energy. Before its physical discovery on the Lost Island, its energy readings could be sensed from miles away, with the proper tool. It is tainted with an essence that causes an illness known as Deepsea Sickness.
The Artifact dates back to the era of the Hero-Saints. The Lost Island and the ruins that held the Artifact are believed to be connected to the end of their legend, but no account describes an item like the Artifact.
Due to its age, historical relevance, and hazard to health, there is always tight security around it.
Researchers, both Ignis-based and independent, continue to study the ruins in which the Artifact was found. Its composition makes it the "ultimate seal", but there is no agreement over what exactly was "sealed" before the Artifact was broken. One popular theory suggests that the Artifact was the offspring of the Dark God, an egg laid before her battle and defeat by the hands of the Hero-Saints. It is said that the egg was destroyed by the Hero-Saints before it could hatch.
