Forged Prosthesis

Towards the end of the Last War, a break through was made with prosthetic limbs. By using similar arcane technology used in the creation of the Warforged, it became possible to create reactive replacement limbs made wood, metal and stone.   The process is very expensive, requiring rare materials, expert artisans to custom build the limb to fit and the services of a very power Artificer to imbue the the limb with the required magical animus and then a long and difficult process to attune the limb to the mind of the recipient to ensure they can control it.    With all this is place, the prosthetic can operate almost flawlessly in replacement of the original, indeed offering a number of advantages over the flesh and blood limb. A forged arm can be stronger, and contain attached weapons like those of a Warforged soldier. A forged leg can be used to make greater leaps, two of them can increase a persons running speed.    The rarest and most difficult prosthetic is the forged eye, which is very difficult to make and attune to but if it is done can give access to all sorts of useful abilities, such as telescopic or microscopic vision, True Sight or the ability to see the world in flows of either magical and mundane energy

Utility

Used to replace lost limbs

Manufacturing

The limb must be custom made and designed for the recipient due to their size, shape and mind not fitting the templates normally used by the Creation Forge. A gifted Artificer must then work the Creation Forge through the creation of this custom work.

Discovery
While the process of creating Warforged with the Creation Forge was perfected, the work moved on to working on fixing the automatons after damage in combat.   At the same time, some soldiers, injured in battle has used the discarded limbs of defeated Warforged as crude prosthetics.    Once of the researchers working on the warforged decided to experiment with combining these ideas, which help from the military of Alavon, and made a breakthrough a few years before the Calamity,
