Way of Dogmatic Enforcement

Monk Subclass (Source: Player's Handbook)
This is a reskinned variant of the Way of the Open Hand subclass. It is as follows:
The Hypocratical Church includes a semi-cloistered monastic order, the members of which are known as Shrine Reeves, though this is virtually always shortened to simply Reeves. The order takes in orphans of five years old or less, and raises them in cloistered orphanages until they reach the age of maturity, at which time the orphans may leave to pursue a secular life, or take on vows and remain in the monastary for another five or more years to receive the intensive training necessary to become a Reeve. After proving themselves and earning their status, a new Reeve is sent out into the world to do the work of Hypocrat, but are expected to take up residence at a shrine, church or temple of Hypocrat somewhere in the world and to eventually return to monastic life.
In areas under Hypocratical influence, Reeves are responsible for the collection of taxes and the enforcement of church mediated contracts. They also break up labor disputes (usually taking the part of management), put down protection rackets, and discourage banditry. In areas that lack formal law enforcement, Reeves will also quell theft and miscellaneous anti-commercial or counter-doctrinal malfeasance, essentially serving as the de facto law enforcement for the area.
Dogmatic Adherence
The purpose of the Way of Shrine Reeves is to produce enforcers for the authoritarian precepts of the Hypocratical faith. Adherence to dogma and conformity to expectations are demanded and those with any wayward tendencies fail to progress in the ranks until they become more compliant to the Hypocratical ideal. You may not enter this Way if you are chaotic or out of favor with the Hypocratical Church. If the next level you would take is the 6th, 11th, or 17th level of monk and you are either chaotic or are currently out of favor with the Hypocratical Church, you cannot take that level.
Open Hand Mastery
This tradition strongly favors unarmed techniques, particularly when violence proves necessary against the citizenry, and their training reflects this preference. Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain the following benefits while you aren't wearing armor, are not wielding a shield or a weapon, are not encumbered, and are not carrying anything in your hands:
  • Open Hand Defense: If you are not incapacitated and have a Speed greater than 0, you gain +1 AC.
  • Open Hand Deflection: When you attempt to deflect an arrow the damage you take from the attack is reduced by 2d8 + your Dexterity modifier + your monk level.
  • Open Hand Flurry: When you use Flurry of Blows as a bonus action after finishing an attack action with an unarmed strike, you may make three unarmed strikes instead of two.
Controlled Enforcement
Starting at 3rd level, whenever you could make an unarmed attack against a creature, you can instead choose one of the following options and make an attack roll against that creature. If you hit, the creature must make the indicated saving throw against DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier, or suffer the indicated effect.
  • Shove: the target must make a Dexterity or Strength saving throw (their choice). On a failed saving throw you can push them up to 15 feet away from you.
  • Takedown: the target must make a Dexterity or Strength saving throw (their choice). On a failed saving throw they are knocked prone.
Starting at 6th level, you gain the following additional options:
  • Stagger: the target must make a Charisma or Constitution saving throw (their choice). On a failed saving throw they cannot take reactions or bonus actions until the end of their next turn.
  • Takeaway: the target must make a Dexterity or Strength saving throw (their choice). On a failed saving throw you snatch a weapon or object they were holding in one hand away from them, and you are now holding it.
Blessing of Hypocrat
At 6th level, Hypocrat empowers you with the ability to heal yourself. As a bonus action, you can regain hit points equal to three times your monk level. You must finish a long rest before you can use this feature again.
Peacekeeper
Beginning at 11th level, Hypocrat empowers you with an aura of peace, the better to pacify the populace. At the end of a short or long rest, you gain the effect of a Sanctuary spell that lasts until the start of your next rest (the spell can end early as normal). The saving throw DC for the spell equals 12 + half your monk level (rounded down).
Retributive Repercussions
Starting at 17th level, those who dare to strike at you are punished by Hypocrat for their audacity. Whenever you are not incapacitated and a creature targets you with a spell, ability, or attack, that creature must make an Intelligence save against DC 12 + half your monk level (rounded down). On a failed save the creature takes 1d10 psychic damage.
