The Vault of Winter

Beware, Astara, for those who set foot upon it are sure to perish; Never has stone been so cold.
A fearsome creature lurks within,
hungry for flesh and blood.
Beware, lest you become its next meal.

Beware all who enter,
for within this dark abyss
lurks an ancient evil.

are quickly consumed,
never to be seen again.

The entry to the Vault of Winter is at the foot of Mount Astara in the Duchy of Saurey. It's hidden within The Frozen Forest and can be deadly to approach. A deep chasm surrounds it, and the air is bitter with cold. Even touching the ice can frost your skin.
To enter the vault of winter is to venture into near-certain death. The temperature drops below freezing the moment the entrance is approached. and only gets colder as you get closer. There is no light, no sound, and no life. Only an burning frost that consumes everything it touches, regardless of the clothing being worn.

Inside The Vault

Upon stepping foot in the darkness, a flash occurs, then complete darkness. Slowly, the eyes adjust to the bioluminescent fungus on the walls, glowing a bluish-white color. There is a corridor within the antechamber leading to the ornate silver door to the dungeon proper, protected by pressure-triggered trap.
After Relyt was able to defeat one of the illusory traps he had found himself trapped in (without dying), he later met Alkhana, who began grumbling about being disturbed. He spoke briefly with her, and she pointed him to his ultimate goal within the vault: The portal to The Unknown Isles.
