Katana of the Unknown Isles

The Katana of the Unknown Isles is a divine artifact, perfectly balanced, and cold to the touch except to its bonded owner, with microscopic runic etchings carved into the blade and pommel, glowing faintly with a blue-white light until placed in the scabbard. When drawn, the blade pulses with a blue-white light like that of the runes, and it becomes very hot as an aura of white energy coalesces around it. Its curved mithril blade perfectly complements the dark grip, and the dark leather scabbard is adorned with gem-inlaid silver patterns.
This sword is a divine artifact of The Creator, previously thought to be lost forever. It cannot be wielded by anyone other than its bonded companion. The script found on the sword and scabard will illuminate in the presence of evil or denizens of the Shadow Realm.

This weapon must be bonded to be wielded in combat. The soul bond must be with a strong enough soul to support this entity. Soulbound item. Once bonded, it cannot be lost, stolen, sold, or gifted.

(Exception: If the bonded companion’s soul contains enough energy, it can be willingly gifted for use for up to thirty minutes, at which point the temporary user must cease using it and return it to its bonded soul, or the weapon becomes hostile, leeching life from the bearer. The bonded companion may recall this weapon to his/her hand or inventory at any time.)”
