Khori Dragons

Khori Dragons are small, golden dragons that blend seamlessly into fields of wheat or tall grasses. Their slender, rigid bodies resemble long wheat kernels, and their wings mimic the delicate fronds of barley or grass heads. This remarkable camouflage allows them to remain almost invisible in their natural environment. Their scales shimmer faintly in sunlight, resembling the golden hues of ripe wheat, while their eyes are a muted amber, providing a harmonious blend with their surroundings.
Their wings, although delicate in appearance, are incredibly durable, reinforced by thin, sinewy membranes. Their tails end in a small, fin-like structure that aids in steering while in flight, making them agile and precise.

Habitat and Behaviour

Khori Dragons are native to the expansive golden fields of Kil’Dorei and surrounding regions. They make their homes among tall grasses and wheat fields, where they can easily evade predators. Their rigid, wheat-like appearance provides perfect camouflage against the backdrop of farmland, protecting them from detection by both predators and poachers.
These dragons are shy and elusive, preferring to avoid direct contact with larger creatures. However, they exhibit a quiet curiosity, often observing humans and animals from a safe distance. Their harmonious chirping is a rare sound and is believed to carry calming properties, soothing both livestock and farmers who work the fields.

Diet and Hunting

As insectivores, Khori Dragons sustain themselves on a diet of grasshoppers, crickets, and other small insects found in their environment. Their keen eyesight and silent flight allow them to stalk and catch their prey effortlessly. They are particularly valuable to farmers, as they naturally control pest populations, protecting crops from damage.

The eggs are small and golden, blending seamlessly with their surroundings. Hatchlings are independent within a few months of hatching, learning to camouflage and hunt alongside their parents.

The penalty for harming a Khori Dragon is severe, reflecting the deep respect these dragons command within the culture.
