Rubidium
Rubidium is a soft, pale metallic element known among alchemists for its extreme reactivity and energetic behavior. It is rarely found in pure form and instead occurs within certain mineral deposits deep underground, often alongside other rare alkali metals. When refined, rubidium reacts violently with water and even moisture in the air, releasing heat, flashes of light, and sometimes small bursts of flame. Because of this volatility, it must be stored in sealed vessels filled with protective oils or inert gases. Despite the danger, artificers and alchemical researchers prize rubidium for experiments involving rapid energy release, magical ignition systems, and certain forms of arcane propulsion. Some advanced magical devices incorporate carefully controlled rubidium reactions to trigger powerful effects in an instant. Due to the risks involved in handling it, rubidium is rarely used outside specialized laboratories and artificer workshops where experienced practitioners can manage its unpredictable nature.
