Rabid

A Most Horrific End

A rabid creature is overwhelmed by violent, uncontrollable aggression.   A rabid creature is subject to the following effects:
  • The creature can't regain hit points except through magical healing.
  • The creature has disadvantage on Wisdom ability checks.
  • Whenever a creature within the rabid creature's reach deals damage to it, the rabid creature must use its reaction, if available, to make one melee attack against the triggering creature after the triggering damage is resolved.

  • Unless otherwise specified by the effect that caused it, the creature repeats the saving throw that caused it to become rabid at the end of each of its turns, ending the condition on a success.   Lesser Restoration, Heal, or similar magic ends the condition.   Special
A creature can't become rabid while it is already rabid. If an effect would cause a rabid creature to become rabid again, the effect has no additional effect unless it explicitly states otherwise.

Rabies is such a nasty disease. >.< I like the reaction requirement.

It's awful. I wish there was a way I could have encapsulated the full effect of the disease into the condition but it was simply overload.

Yeah. It's a tough one to capture in game mechanics. Especially the horror of it.
