Niobium
Niobium is a resilient metallic element valued by artificers and master smiths for the strength, flexibility, and magical stability it lends to metal alloys. It is most commonly found within rare mineral ores deep within mountainous regions or ancient geological formations. When refined and combined with other metals, niobium greatly improves resistance to heat, stress, and magical distortion, allowing crafted materials to endure powerful enchantments without cracking or warping. Because of this property, artificers frequently incorporate small quantities of niobium into enchanted armor, arcane machinery, and structural components of magical devices that must withstand intense magical currents. The metal also forms a thin protective surface that resists corrosion, which makes it useful for tools and equipment exposed to harsh environments. Though not widely known outside circles of skilled craftsmen and scholars, niobium has earned a reputation as a reliable and versatile element for forging materials intended to endure both physical strain and prolonged magical use.
