Draconic Dark Bargains
An Ancient Deal
"When a dragon offers a bargain, remember that it has had centuries to practice wanting things and only moments to practice needing them. Ask yourself which side of the table that leaves you on."
Crown of Scales
"Kneel. It feels natural."
Power was never enough. You wanted reverence. Whether granted by an ancient wyrm, stolen from a dragon's hoard, or awakened within your blood, draconic majesty now coils around your soul. Others feel it when you enter a room. So do you.
Draconic Presence. As an action, you can unleash a wave of supernatural dominance. Creatures of your choice within 10 feet of you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier) or have the Frightened condition until the end of your next turn. Once you use this action, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest. Wounded Pride.
The slightest insult gnaws at you. Whenever a creature publicly insults you, challenges your authority, defeats you, or causes you visible embarrassment, you must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or become obsessed with restoring your status. Until you believe the slight has been answered, compromise, apology, retreat, and forgiveness feel deeply unnatural to you. The Draconic Lens.
You increasingly view the world as dragons do. You instinctively sort creatures into categories of superior, equal, or lesser. This shift rarely affects your actions directly, but it colors your judgments, expectations, and first impressions. Friends may notice the change before you do.
"A dragon never lies about the bargain. The danger is that by the time you understand what it wanted, the bargain is already over."
