Minotaur
Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
Minotaurs are a race of powerful monstrous humanoid carnivores that resemble bull-human hybrids, with an uncanny natural affinity and understanding of mazes and labyrinths.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Minotaurs are large, muscular humanoids, with the head of a bull, upper torso, hands, and the body of a human, and hooved feet. Their fur typically ranges from brown to black, and often covers their forearms, chest, abdomen, and legs. Males (bulls) can be as high as 9 feet tall, while females (cows) usually don’t surpass 7 feet in height. Bulls and cows are similar in appearance, though cows have broader hips and humanoid breasts.
Their horns are similar to normal bulls', but slightly curve forwards. Both males and females have huge horns , though on average, a bull’s horns will be longer and thicker than a cow’s. Even the shortest horns are around 1 foot long, and can easily reach up to three times that length. There are several horn coloring variations, and sometimes as many as three colors can be present; minotaurs with dark fur often have dark yellow or brown horns.
Genetics and Reproduction
Though generally speaking minotaurs reproduce sexually, it is possible for a human (and perhaps other humanoid species) to become a minotaur due to a curse. There is a common notion, though unproved, that the first minotaurs were the product of such curse.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Minotaurs can navigate through every maze with ease, and will never become lost, no matter the circumstances. This exceptional spatial awareness renders it impossible to catch a minotaur off-guard.
Civilization and Culture
Beauty Ideals
A minotaur with healthy teeth is considered exceptionally beautiful. For this reason, minotaurs don't bite their prey or enemies unless they are desperate, as they do not want to chip or break their teeth.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
Minotaurs speak simplified forms of Tärkeinieli.
