Laithil Dúrmir

Laithil Dúrmir, also known in Lingua Imperial as Silent Watchers of the Dusk, are a special unit which often take place as skirmishers, ambushers, deep reconnaissance units - often referred to as guerilla warfare sometimes. While as individuals, they are the assassins of the army, neutralizing threats abroad and in enemy camps, roads or settelements. In the rare cases, they were used to neutralize machinery aswell or supplies.
To most, their presence is myth: a whisper in the night, a shadow that moves too fast for the eye, a silent death for those who bring ruin.

They are clad in the Mantles of Twilight Veil, cloaks woven with magic that ripple like mirages when they move. Their armor is light and suppleץ

Weaponry

The Laithil Dúrmir typically use bows to strike down from hidden places while maintaining their spots an engima.

Tactics

The Laithil Dúrmir are expert in stealth, deception and are reknown Shadow Dancers. In addition, they are known to use illusion and mostly Shadow Magic in order to facilitate their operations, such as launching a volley of arrows and having the enemy confused for the direction, from which it came.

Laithil Dúrmir are not chosen for strength alone, nor for noble lineage, but for an unwavering spirit: patient, relentless, and cold as the misty hills.

History

Since the fall of The High Kingdom of Abaisgar, many refugees ventured north-westward to their forgotten lands, however few remained in Abaisgar, up until merceneries drove them. Those people are known as the Laithil Dúrmir.
