King Under the Mountains is a title reserved for the leader of the unified Mountain Dwarves of the Brotherhood of Dora-Nil.

Accoutrements & Equipment

The most noteworthy item in the king's, or queen's, regalia, is the Jnoskegga, a beard wig, for lack of a better term. There are several reasons for that tradition:
  • By wearing the Jnoskegga, focus on the king's natural beard is diverted elsewhere. The king does not need to carefully maintain it, and his critics cannot target him should his beard be deemed "undwarfy".
  • Different clans tend to wear their beards in different styles. Thus the king isn't associated with his clan, rather, the brotherhood.
