Idol

Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
Idols are not deities. They are divine servitors of a deity or rather a creature that is worshipped enough for its ideal and Soul Element enhance their divine status;   "Divine" in this case has two meanings:
    • All Idols serve a deity of atleast a demigod status.
    • All idols have almost the power of a demi-god, without the ability to conjure avatars or rule a realm or grant divine powers, though they aren't so by themselves but only by virtue of being turned into an idol.
    • All Idols are considered to be the essence of an ideology
    • They are worshipped exculusively without any mention of other being
None the less, they do not necessary have any portfolio, but they must have many followers and are typacilly are mortals or creatures who have earned the powerful gaze of a god who made them a champion of their cause or maybe they have enough followers to grant them a semi-divine power.

Powers

  • Planar Travel: Unlike other powers, Idol can travel between planes only via magical spells and devices. Because of this limitation, they tend to remain on one plane ore than any of the other types of powers. They still need prerequisites such as spells or items.
  • life and Death: Demipowers share the ability to raise any previously living mortal being from the dead. They can do this once a day no matter what the current condition of the body but must have either an avatar or a holy relic present in the location of the body to raise it.
  • Avatars: They do not have any avater.

Qualifications

An Idol boasted the same abilities as a demigod of the lowest rank and have access to some special abilities, including those normally reserved for true deities. What they don't have were domains and the associated abilities and spells and the ability to grant spells. The ability to sense matters remotely is attuned to their donor deities. While these powers are impressive, they are just borrowed and thus could be retracted at any time.

Requirements

Rank 0: Creatures of this rank are sometimes called quasi-deities or hero deities or Proxy. Creatures that have a mortal and a deity as parentsalso fall into this category. These entities cannot grant spells, but are immortal and usually have one or more ability scores that are far above the norm for their species. They may have some worshipers. Ordinary mortals do not have a divine rank of 0. They lack a divine rank altogether.

Appointment

To become an Idol, the mortal needs to be physically in the presence of a deity of at least demigod status and needs to be imbued with divine energy from that deity. The energy is just borrowed but immense, enough to elevate the receiver to the lowest demigod status and enough to drop the giver in divine energy by a significant margin. However, the bestowing deity can collect it any time without the physical presence and consent of the receivers and without informing them.

Benefits

Deities view their idols as part of themselves and expect them to be treated the same way the deities themselves are treated.
