The nonagonal approach

According to this approach there are nine distinct color groups to identify spells and effects by school:
  • Necromancy ranges between lush green and sickly green;
  • Enchantment is pink;
  • Illusion is yellow with purple edges;
  • Evocation is red;
  • Transmutation is rusted copper;
  • Conjuration is turquoise;
  • Divination is wispy white;
  • Abjuration is mixed blue and gold;
  • some distinct spells may be considered Universal not just because it shows multiple colors but because it reflects some of the color leaving a pearlescent white silhouette.
