Point Sunder

"Hey boss, the new caravan's in town."

"Was there a problem?" Dreamflower was 'one of the bosses', but she didn't know this errand-runner, she just knew he'd been a refugee before hand, and a student in one of her reading-classes.

"I don't know, that's the caravan that left Port Sund before you took over the company. I don't know this Jimini. But he sent the money in first, and he made a mint! It's already been sent up and is being counted."

"Oh, that's quite good."

"He said he accepted some 'passengers', well I'm reading between the line here, some people gave him extra money to join the caravan to leave Port Sund, apparently they expected an attack from 'Silverfangs'."

"Silverfangs?"

"The locals' name for the wolf-man of the Sund wood, the Wolf of the Red Rose. I thought all of the bosses had met him?"

"No, only Stelsor and Fortifier did. One of my friends knows him though, Tide-Tamer, says he's a good teacher.

"Not as good as you, Ma'am!"

"Flattery! Now git, you have other messages to deliver I'm sure."

— Overheard near 12 Carnelian peaches.

"Oh, good, the caravan made it! Such fine Ash wood."

"Ash?"

"If you must know, for Black Sunshine." Miribadi grinned. "Oh, since you know, you're bringing this to the new processing facility, but don't plan to go anywhere, you're the newest 'processor'. Enjoy."

— Somewhere in Liveeasy.

Meanwhile, in Point Sunder.

"Hey Daywalker, what brings you back this soon in the season?"

"You know me, I go where my feet lead me. I worship a god of wandering." That was technically true, an exalt's very existence counted as worship for most things, and Chosen of Journeys went anywhere, and poked their noses into things, usually for heroic purposes, but not always. Mercury was the youngest of the sisters, as things were counted, which is ironic, as the protectiveness of her older sisters went against her own risk-taking and exploratory nature.

"Well, you're my favorite customer!"

"Flatterer!"

"No, really, no one likes my tea quite as much as you do..."

"This is really good stuff though, some of the best I've ever had!" Ohanlei was giving this tea shop the best stuff, right about now, Daywalker thought, and wondered why that was.

"I've heard you came from the north-east?"

"Well, kinda, I went to peek at Silverfangs, and no, he didn't see me." She grinned impishly. Her hostess couldn't know that's where she'd been born, to a Chante-Sa tribe family, and where her name came from. She was their 'Daywalker', going about the day, and telling them what the night couldn't or wouldn't.
