General Summary

Scene: Tea on the ship continues

  • Factor Blue Eyes mentions that Factor Byorn’s girlfriend died and that she wasn’t necessarily a Mortal.
  • Fortifier asks Blue Eyes how long Byorn has been like he is or if any events seemed to lead up to it.
  • Byorn was in Liveeasy about 9 says ago and was then seen leaving Nighthammer pool with no memory of how he got there.

  • Factor Norma Jean suggests the Coin sell Liveeasy casino back to Plentimon of the Dice, God of Gamblers, Patron of Chance and Good Fortune.
  • Marpola Brancino and Combative Mattresses eyes turn gold at the idea of how much money the Tang-Zen Crime Syndicate could gain from this.
  • Stelsor Bladed Tornado lays out a map with onionskin over it. Flying Eiderdown aka Selene, chosen of Jupiter provides inkbottles with different colors for each faction.
  • The Lover, the Coin and the Guild were founding members of Liveeasy with roughly 1 third each.
  • The Circle notices that in the new partitioning, the Lover’s share is no longer really drawn.
  • Stelsor asks if the consensus of those present is that the Liveeasy should stop being a shadowland for the safety of the city.
  • The shadow of the ziggurat would cover Liveeasy, but there are parts of the ziggurat land that no one died in, didn’t become part of the shadowland.
  • Fortifier asks Byorn if he had anything with him when he was found in Nighthammer.
  • Byorn rambles about how he wasn’t found and nothing ever can be. He understands this, now that he has glimpsed Oblivion.
  • Fortifier asks Byorn what his last memory was before the Maw.
  • Byorn says he was looking for his Bonbon (Dark Bonbon of Perdition, champion of Shines-in-Numbers), and a ghost told him to go this way and he encountered a maze and there he found the Maw.

  • Bears-Fangs brings up Steele Cast’s encounter with Flora, which sets Steele Cast off. Steele Cast pushes him against a wall and demands to know how he heard this. Bears-Fangs attributes the rumor to Luna.
  • The Solar ghost that had possessed Flora Gesatti, Keirin Dawnstrider, was a prior incarnation of Steele Cast’s Exaltation.
  • The dalliance between Flora and Steele Caste had happened after her possession
  • Nyeah appears in a space near Fortifier, Byorn and Blue Eyes
  • She says that she has been dematerializing lately and blips back to the Underworld.
  • She looks at Byorn and states that “You’ve seen it too haven’t you.” and describes the Maw.
  • Fortifier asks what she know about the The Maw of the Void’s effects on mortals.
  • She says she doesn’t really know how it would affect the living; It is very rare for dead souls to enter the Labyrinth at all, much less reach the Maw at the center.
  • The Maw is the remnants of one or more dead primordials.
  • Fortifier asks Nyeah if removing the memory from Byorn might improve his condition. She says that removing the memory might permit him to heal.
  • Fortifier asks if Nyeah is immune to this Maw because of her Abyssal state.
  • Nyeah says immune isn’t quite the right term, she says, though as an Abyssal the Maw doesn’t dominate her free will like it does for Ghosts.
  • Fortifier senses she talks about the Maw as having desires and asks if it communicates.
  • Nyeah pulls Fortifier away from others to explain that some have been known to hear Whispers of the dead primordials.
  • Scene: Dinner

  • Toast, everyone drinks, though the undead drink their own kind of wine.
  • Darkwine with the tears of 400 ghosts to flavor it.
  • Nyeah asks Bears-Fangs how his business has been.
  • Bears-Fangs asks Tide-Tamer if he’s drank darkwine before. Tide-Tamer says he has, but it didn’t agree with him. The occasion had to do with the Ferule(?) which is a name known to Thousand Brushstrokes.
  • Stelsor plays footsie with Norma Jean.
  • Someone is walking down the stairs. It is Byorn’s majordomo and amanuensis, Shines with the Glory of an Unheralded Gleam. They take up a place behind Byorn at the table.
  • Fortifier’s Celestial Overseer Concordat detects this newcomer is a Raksha.
  • Shines explains he was detained and commends Byorn for seeming more lively today.
  • Someone strikes up conversation with Creon Flecktar Blood-spatter.
  • Flectar is apprenticed to Thousand Brushtrokes
  • Has magical blood splatter from those his slays.
  • Fortifier is intrigued and asks if this blood has special properties or is purely cosmetic. Apparently it is somewhat related to his Artifact weapon.
  • During dessert, Essence-of-Spice-Trade asks for 6 pieces of the cake and adds lots of cinnamon to him.
  • Stelsor puts Thousand Brushstrokes on the spot to explain what he as learned about the ziggurat collapse.
  • Thousand Brushstrokes reveals medallions that he got from Miribadi. This is him making good on our deal for him to claim credit for destroying the ziggurat that the Circle destroyed.

  • Stelsor succeeds on a social roll to interrupt and calm him somewhat.
  • Fortifier and Shines are able to physically restrain him.
  • Byorn is no longer casting Death Door, but instead softly repeating the name of Bonbon of Perdition
  • Fortifier is mishearing it and is concerned these are the Whispers Nyeah mentioned.
