Riverfolk Species in The Realm of Beardsgaard | World Anvil

Riverfolk

The Riverfolk may have water in their blood, but they tend to flow to the more temperate sort. They sometimes will gather into settlements near water, but just as often go live a nomadic existence. They often have skill with herbalism, with a but of Human luck on their side and some basic learning, the most average of of them can provide healing as well as most well trained mortals.

Basic Information

Growth Rate & Stages

Riverfolk age stages take after whichever culture they are raised in, but all things being equal, they lean toward their Human side in this regard. They are considered fully grown if not fully mature adults at 16 years of age (some may grow and fill in a touch more in the next few years), at 60 they are usually done with their procreation years, and are considered an elder at 100 years old and beyond.
Legacy Beings take on traits of each of their parent species. A single Water Elemental far back in a long line of Humans will make for a present day Riverfolk with mostly Human characteristics. That Riverfolk individual, however, would have had to have a Vanir or God in their family tree somewhere, as they are the only humanoid beings that can directly physically interact with an Elemental, much less procreate with them.   Choose which of your parent species you take after more, then take the Stats and Prime Traits of that parent species, and the Legacy Trait of the other parent species.
