Tengoku

Tengoku is a complex and diverse empire with a rigid social hierarchy, where honor, duty, and loyalty are held in high regard. Powerful noble clans govern the major cities, each with their own agendas and rivalries, while various factions and interest groups compete for power and influence over the world's affairs. Ongoing conflicts between different factions continuously fuel the political landscape, while the criminal underworld fiercely competes for control. Fantastic creatures such as yokais, spirits, and other beings roam the lands, and the Kochu, monstrous insectoid creatures of varying sizes with a hive mind, pose a constant threat to the mainland. Skilled warriors train to control the Shinjuken, magically altered undead Kochu that excel at combat, and these warriors are held in high regard for their service and strict code of honor.
