Frost Elves

The Frost Elves are a subspecies of Elves found throughout Yserea on the continent of Aesuth. As well as being extremely proficient in the use of Ice magic, the Frost Elves are also well known for their resilience, producing many great warriors, pathfinders, and survivalists.

General Appearance

Frost Elves typically have very pale skin (with a very light blue tinge being a rarely occurring trait), with white, grey, or very light blonde hair, and blue, green, or grey eyes. Frost Elves have a physique ranging from the typical slender physique commonly seen among most Elves, and a more toned physique like that seen among the Wood and Sun Elves.

Due to the challenging conditions of their homelands, the Frost Elves have grown to be a very stoic and pragmatic people compared to their fellow Elves. In their martial traditions, this manifests in the belief that one must end conflicts as quickly as possible while expending as little energy as possible, with martial techniques focusing on speed and precision. While Frost Elves are generally quite sociable among themselves, and value close bonds with trusted allies, they are often distant and aloof around those who have yet to earn their trust, with outsiders commonly describing their attitude as "cold".

Interestingly, Frost Elf society seems to exhibit traits of both High Elf and Wood Elf society, with the prominence of each half varying between settlements. The larger settlements often have grand structures and are inhabited by scholars and artisans, while the smaller settlements (particularly along the frontiers) contain sturdy, simple buildings, and typically have more hunters and scouts among their populations. Despite these differences, the Frost Elves don't consider either way of living to be superior or inferior to one another, with both halves of Frost Elf society working together to ensure their mutual stability and development.

Common Dress code

Frost Elf clothing is made from thick cloth and furs, uses cool colours (white, blue, and light blue, with silver often appearing among the upper class), and uses decorative elements evocative of their environment, which are often a mix of flowing and solid, sharp edged shapes.

Frost Elf art and architecture makes use of graceful, flowing shapes, as well as sharp edges and solid shapes. Frost Elf art frequently incorporates elements of snow, ice, and winter (often in the form of engravings and sculptures), and some notable structures make use of enchanted ice in their construction.
