The High Pegasus

Carrier of the High Ones

Gerald the First, co-founder of the High Ones, ordered for this ship to be built not long after he had become a High One. He got the best boat builders he knew and told them to make a good boat. After about two months, they had built one of the fastest boats on the Soro sea, its sails made of a strange and magical material known as Windoron silk, allowing it to reach unearthly amounts of speed. Luxurious beds and furniture was loaded on into the middle deck, where the High Ones would be sleeping on long journeys, while the crew slept on the bottom deck beside the wine storage.   The captain of this ship is Soren, who originally sailed on the Gusting Gale, but was offered a lot of gold to sail the Peggy. In the crew is also five keepers, who must clean and keep the ship in fine shape, the Crowlad, who spends most of his day up in the crow's nest, watching for storms and enemy ships, and finally the three Offencers, who are in charge of all cannons, armour and weaponry. Their job is to keep the High Ones safe.
Rebels once stowed away in boxes so they could get onto the ship and assassinate Gerald the First. They failed, and were thrown overboard. This made Gerald paranoid, so he ordered all docks that the ship lands must have maximum security. This drove away pirate ships whenever the Peggy was nearing its destination.   Soren, the captain of the ship, was quite the poet. He had wrote a song about his time on the Peggy known as the Winged Horse:          I must now say farewell to the Gusting Gale, And captain a ship now so frail.  It bears no wings, but the wind still sings, for its speed is as swift as a nightingale. Though my passengers are full of it, and all they do is drink and sit, I can at least be comforted by the wind.

Also most passengers are terrified of water, making journeys alot harder for the crew, cleaning up sick and trying to calm their cargo down.

as a consistency thing, everything but the ships height is in metric. Also, many sailing ships measure the height as the top of the tallest mast, so that may be something you want to change anyway. keep up the good work.

As always, it would be appreciated if you would stop by my challenge article The Storm Giant Empire and leave some feedback.   If you are looking for things to read from summer camp there is also my Summer Camp 2022 Reading Challenge.. Happy worldbuilding.

also, i just noticed the speed, which you may want to address somewhere in the article as, wow, that is super fast for a sailing ship
