Victor's Wing

Officially known as the Vermin Extermination Squad (VES), this union of municipal sanitation employees is charged with ensuring the enforcement of the Edict of Principle demanding the extermination of Winged Sand Foxes as vermin within Central Tilth's bubble wall.

In truth, they are secretly dedicated to helping wild sand foxes safely escape the city's confines, giving aid and comfort to injured sand foxes, and reuniting domestic sand foxes to the discreet safety of their human companions.

The complex structure of the Edicts that govern how the people and municipality interact means that when people complain about the incompetency of the VES, the Ruling Caste must devote additional resources to the Squad. These resources are, of course, monetary and are immediately applied to the hiring and training of new people.

Each recruit is hand-selected by a veteran member of the VES. They are chosen for their commitment to duty and their shared belief in the value of upholding the principles and motives of the VES. This is reflected in the oath they swear upon successful completion of their training certification challenge, which binds them to the health and welfare of the city's population and ecology.

3. Is it a text wall or is it broken up and organized for clarity?
4. Does it catch my interest, does it give me a reason to care?
5. Does it make me curious about your world/characters/story?
6. Do you make use of WorldAnvil's common tools like auto-linking, template prompts, headers, and formatting?
7. Does it stink like AI? (If you use AI-generated art, this hurdle is automatically higher. I don't mark you off wholly, but I do look at your polished prose harder.)

I don't care so much about polish or tricks — I know many of you compete hoping to win World Anvil subscriptions or even just for the fun, cool prizes. Like shiny math rocks.

Writing and storytelling are different skills, and to me, story is the more important. My past winners are always telling excellent stories in their worldbuilding.
