Ravlier

Ravlier needs women.
The men inhabiting the tiny mountain town of Ravlier know their little hamlet will turn into a ghost town unless more women move there soon. The town is only a short distance from the much larger and very popular Vergina City. Ravlier enjoys the benfits the proxicimity brings, but it's inhabitant prefer a less rambunctious lifestyle. Most folks who make it out to Ravlier make it there because they want to escape from the rest of the world. It's part of the charm of the dusty town, but without women, eventually the town will die out. The town decides to advertise for women looking to homestead on the harsh mountainous moon.
They leave the task to the two most technologically savvy of them, hoping to send the advertesment to the furthest reaches of the Empire.
The problem is that what the townsfolk wanted wasn't what the advertisment implied and then the plan really went to hell...

Mills watched the advertisment close on a couple outlined against the setting sun. He sighed as the upbeat and welcoming music ended.   "Well? What do you think? It was great, right! It's perfect, right!" Two bouncing voices spoke at the same time.   He let what he'd just witnessed settle for a couple of seconds. What did he think? Oooh, damn. Uuh what did he think? Where to begin? "Uh, you guys don't see anythign wrong with it?" he asked, just to double check.   Both men, positively brimming with excitement in their accomplishment, shook their heads. They shared an almost giddy look and Ingelton, the oldest at 24, said, "Mr. Clemens at the Verginia City Tribute said he's going to run it for us four times a day for the next week."   "For only a credit a day, paid in full, this morning," Arvil, youngest at 22, said with a man's pride for taking care of business.   Mills nodded. "Mr. Clemens did that for you, did he? This morning? So it's already running, then?"   "Yes! Yea!" they spoke in unison again.   Well then, with that being said, nothing Mills said would make one damn bit of difference. So instead of waisting his breath, his time, and more of his sanity, he patted each almost man on the shoulder and said, "Gentlemen, I think you have definitely started something here and I wish you luck."   "Thanks, Mills. You want a chance to meet some of the ladies that move to town?"   "Probably not, Ingelton, but I'll let the rest of the boys know."   Two hours later Mills pulled to a stop outside the mainhouse of his mountain top farmstead and let out a whistle. Two of his brothers were already walking toward the wagon. The whistle would call the others.   "Got stopped by the Warder brothers," he said to Elliam as the other man hefted two 100 pound bags of flour onto his shoulders. Elliam grunted his boredom with the topic and turned towards the kitchens. Mills leaned against the wagon and said, "showed me the ad they placed for women homesteaders."   Elliam stopped walking. And waited.   "Clemens is running it on the Tribute four times a day for the next week. Probably start seeing results in a couple of days."   Elliam grunted and walked away.   Mills smiled and met eyes with Ryeiiler who grinned. "How's it look?"   Before Mills could comment their younger brother Dellmen gallopped up on his lanky, still growing frame and asked, "how's what look?"   "The Warder brothers placed the ad."   "Whhhooooottyyyaaaa!!!" Dell whooped and jumped. "Just you wait! Just wait, before you know it this place is gonna be swarming with girls! How's it look?"   Instead of answering, Mills opened his tel-com and rebooted the vidcast ad Ingelton and Arvil posted to encourage women homesteaders to move to Ravlier. His brothers Ryeiiler and Dellmen, along with the remaining seven others who came to the wagon to help unload, watched the ad, at first with hope and excitement and then with bewilderment.   Mills waited for the upbeat music and shadowed couple to fade before closing his tel-com.   After a couple beats of stunned silence, Ardrus the youngest brother at 12, said, "gads, that's terrible. Do not tell Elliam."   And, for once, all the brothers were in agrement.
