Zalbah-At

The great city of Zalbah-At is the capital of Kritmorc. It is both the centre of politics as well as the centre of religion of the country, for in Kritmorc that goes hand-in-hand. Zalbah-At is one of the largest cities in the known world with a little under a million inhabitants.

Portent Plaza

In the north-east district of the city lies Portent Plaza, a large hexagonal plaza with on three of its sides the Temples of Niril. In addition to being places of worship for the three Niril divinities, the temples house the judiciary, executive and legislature powers of the nation.
Between the three temples, on the other three sides of the hexagonal plaza, wide streets lead to three minor plazas from which the temples are also accessible. In the centre of Portent Plaza, a raised circular dais stands. Once a year, the Oracle of Nir will speak to the people of Kritmorc from this dais.

The Hollowed City

Almost in the centre, a little to the south, of Zalbah-At, sits the Hollowed City, a holy site the size of a large town. A low, waist high wall separates it from the rest of the city. No greenery grows on the inside of the walls. It consists of several derelict one story buildings, all in various stages of decay. From a distance, the vague shape of a large boulder sitting at the centre of the city can be distinguished. Under this boulder sits a tomb. However, almost nobody has ever seen it, for nobody can enter the Hollowed City except for one person.
On the day before they are crowned, the successor to the Oracle of Nir enters the tomb in the centre of the Hollowed City. They are the only one who knows the secret of that place. All other people walk past the wall of the Hollowed City not acknowledging its presence in their periphery. They see it and immediately unsee it. It is seen as blesphemy to stop and look.
