Phandalin is a village nestled about 50 miles into Phandalin Forest at the end of the Triboar Trail. It has been the site of numerous encampments and townships over the last thousand years, each having fallen at some point to calamity, war, disease, etc. The current residents, a small collection of humans and halflings, have persisted for quite some time. They do so by remaining inconspicuous and conflict-averse. Of particular note, Phandalin is the site of the signing of the Phandelver's Pact - an agreement between the legendary Firbolg of Phandalin Forest and the Dwarves of Ethrendel. This information is mostly forgotten and only known to the few who make it their business to study the history of Phandal - the surrounding region.
