The Weaver's Cradle is a
Vestement of The Shatter, a magical weapon that was forged with the blessing of the deity
Kyndra during The Shatter as a weapon that would enhave the abilities of their ancient champion. Legends state that during
The Shatter, an elven warrior wielded Weaver's Cradle in a battle against
Dralva the Silver Queen.
Description
The hilt of this intricate blade is designed like a web conjoined as a double helix. The blade itself shines purple in the moonlight and silver in the daylight, this property seems to be consistent even without access to the celestial objects. At the base of the pommel is a purple gem that swirls with a strange collection of particulates and energy. Whenever a spell is cast using the sword, this energy swells becoming almost flame-like around the gemstone.
History
Weaver's Cradle was crafted in the early years of The Shatter by followers of the goddess
Kyndra. After its creation it was eventually bestowed onto her champion, Roth Vlasoris. The weapon was held at her side until she fell during a battle with
Dralva the Silver Queen. The events of the battle have been lost to time as apparently the weapon has. Weaver's Cradle was never recovered, and remains lost until this day.
One
Arcanologist has theorised that the weapon could be somewhere in current day
Heimter due to its proximity to the ancient civilization known as Duw'lova. Another Arcanologist, Herinford Shalas, has theorised that the weapon has returned to a unique location dedicated to Kyndra and her cause.
Regardless of its location, Arcanologists agree that the weapon itself is a strange creation, especially due to the fact that Kyndra and her siblings are often recorded as having kept out of the conflict between
The Shattered Pantheon. Despite this, it is one of many examples of Vestements that have been created by the
Dual Idols, indicating that their involvement was greater than previously thought.
Properties
The following properties have been writing assuming the use of Dungeons & Dragons 5e. However, the statistics can be altered to suit the usage of a variety of roleplaying systems.
Awakened State
Awakened State
- The wielder gains a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon.
- The sword can cast vicious mockery (DC 13) once per day without requiring material components.
- As a bonus action, the sword can be used to expand the abilities of the wielder. For 1 minute, any creature that attempts a skill check within 30 feet of the wielder is given advantage on the skill check, if the wielder is proficient in the skill.
Exalted State
- The bonus to attack and damage rolls increases to a +2.
- A target that is hit with this weapon takes an additional 1d6 psychic damage.
- The sword can be used to cast hold person (DC 15) once per day without requiring material components. The DC for vicious mockery is increased to 15.
Mythic State
- The bonus to attack and damage rolls increases to a +3. Additionally, the additional psychic damage dealt increases to 1d8.
- The sword can be used to cast dominate person (DC 17) once per day without requiring material components. The DC for hold person and vicious mockery is increased to 17.
- The advantage granted to creatures rolling a skill check is granted regardless of whether the wielder has proficiency.
- If the wielder has advantage on an attack against a creature, the power surges within the weapon. Once per turn, the target hit with this weapon takes an additional 2d6 necrotic damage.
