The Flow

The Flow...
One of the greatest mysteries of our world, many scholars have worked tirelessly to discover just what the Flow is exactly, but have always failed to truly understand it. It is a field of pure, raw Mystia which flows between all planes, much like the bloodstream of the entire Multiverse. It keeps the many planes alive with Mystia, but it also keeps them separated from each other, by forming an electromagnetic field of energy, much like some form of force field. If ever this barrier were to disappear, the planes would slowly drift towards the center of the Multiverse, merging and destroying one another. And so the Flow is very much essential to the very existence of the Multiverse.
But it is also a plane in and of itself, where all imprinted creatures reside until they are summoned. Imprinting occurs when a Magician forms a powerful bond with a creature. All creatures, like all other beings in the Multiverse, have a unique Mystia signature. Magicians can sense these signatures, and it is this unique ability which allows them to Imprint upon a creature. Once Imprinted, an indestructible thread is formed between creature and Magician, which entwines their souls for all time. A bond which can not be broken. The creature then disappears into the Flow, where it will reside until summoned by their master Magician.
The Flow is also thought to be the spirit realm. While this is not true, the spirit realm does exist beside the Flow. For centuries, many dark forces have tried unsuccessfully to enter the Flow. We should all be thankful for their failure. If ever does one find a way into the Flow, the very existence of the Multiverse may be threatened.
