Raize

"Past. . . present. . . future. . ." Raize begins, "Up, down, all around! It matters not. It's all the same to me!"
Raize has been manipulating the timeline because he is trying to instill change in the world, to change the world for what he perceives as better, or to make it perfect. He sees the world as imperfect and flawed. And in his views, there is only one force with the power to instill real change in the world. He can change one thing here or there in the timeline, but the world will continue on as though nothing happened. In order to create a real impactful change, he needs to create a much larger event. And only one force has the power to instill that kind of change. War.
Throughout history, Raize has manipulated small parts of the timeline, creating wars such as the Relic War. However they have not had the impact on the world which he envisioned. So instead, he is using these events in a much larger plan, in order to create a much larger event. The war to end all wars. This is indeed Raize's endgame.
Raize was not always like this, or even a time wraith being. He was once human. In a past life, he was a man named Petre Derbaur. He lived in Alamhna during ancient times, in 1A, as a historian and researcher. One day he came upon a cavernous tunnel beneath the sands. He spent days investigating the structure, but getting nowhere. That is until a group of slaves fell into the cave, who helped him with his investigation and eventually was able to translate the symbols upon the walls, and his life-long dream of changing the world, to make it perfect, slowly came to the surface. Eventually, they found a book which seemed to chronicle the events of all time, an ancient artefact known as The Prophecy. He thought they could use this book to change the world, to change all of time. But his ideas were too dangerous. The book was too dangerous, and in his hubris, as he tried to use the magic and the power of the Prophecy, it changed and warped him. But at the time the people with him could not tell that it had begun to change him.
This was the origin of the ancient organization known as the The Ah-Mun-Ra, the protectors of the Prophecy. Over time, however, Petre Derbaur would be changed by the Prophecy's magic, warped by its power. Over time he would come to betray them as he seeks to use this power, as he soon becomes the entity known now as Raize.
For the Prophecy has a curse. Those who would dare seek to use its power to their own desires are cursed and warped beyond all recognition, as they become time wraiths, unconscious of the person they once were, cursed to wander time and space forever, mindlessly. However, his will was too strong. Somehow, someway, he retained his consciousness.
Raize is an entity who should not exist.
