Almusder
Almusder is a relatively small town located near the center of the Sindar desert region. It consists large carved out sections and tunnels dug into the side of a small sandstone mountain. It is very important to the Safreen people, and it is the only known place to produce silver needle extract in any significant quantities.
Trade in silver needle extract is lucrative enough that it is the whole reason the settlement sprang up here and is a significant contributor to the financial success of the Safreen traders. The silver needle plant is naturally abundant here, but is grown and harvested on a systematic agricultural basis now. After harvesting, the needles of the plant are then processed to create the extract. The extract is most commonly used for the most powerful healing potions.
Defences
It's location provides it with ample natural defenses, both from the vast desert around it which is difficult to traverse in the best of times, and from the mountain which it is carved into.
It maintains a small militia of about 100 soldiers.
Industry & Trade
Though it functions as a way-point for travelers and traders and has a small market that can supply most basic needs, it's primary industry and trade is that of the silver needle extract which is sent far and wide to use in healing potions and other alchemical concoctions including the illicit production of a magical drug that is very valuable and highly sought after by some.
Assets
The treasury of Almusder is located here and is the vault which contains the largest portion of accumulated wealth of the Safreen people. Few outside of the Safreen even know of it's existence, however and even among the Safreen, the specific location is a closely guarded secret.
