Beltsteaders

The families of the Harvest Belt hail from a long lineage of humans who tended the lands of Arsavela from the Nameless Era, into the current age. Though they separate themselves quite adamantly into their own separate families, they are seen as one people. Family rivalries can get intense, as different members make bids for power and economic advances, though common ground always seems to be found in times of revelry and prosperity.   In the age of the Arsaces Monarchy, the landsmen were deeply respected, often invited to the royal courts as valued contributors to the kingdom's health and success. Families would don their best-of-best attire for their forays into the city, a rare event even then. This tradition has ground to a near halt with the Alabaster Hand taking power from the monarchy. Having once been treated as nobility by the monarchy, the landsmen were all but reduced to common folk for whom the crown no longer had time for. Though they continue their work, they acknowledge that their contributions are no longer perceived as valuable to the powers which hold Aurel.   The sands of the south, in the Melocazh Barrens, pose a great threat to these landsmen; this is a threat which the monarchy intended to address, but simply never had the opportunity to, prior to being abruptly ended. Now, under the watch of the Alabaster Hand, no effort is made to look into this issue, or even acknowledge that it is even occurring. Concerned cries fall on deaf ears as the Hand turns these folk away. As the threat grows with each passing day, land disputes have begun cropping up in greater number than ever in the families' history, as displacements have already begun, bringing more families from the south into the upper Northlands of Arsavela, in a bid for safety and land security.
