2050-11-28 Joint Statement From Prestone County Board of Supervisors and Prestone County Police

Date: 11/28/2050

STATEMENT ON CONDITIONS IN PRESTONE COUNTY

Joint Statement of the Prestone County Supervisors and Prestone County Police

November 28, 2050 - Conditions in Prestone County have reached a severe crisis state. Researchers from NuvoPharm, EnterLabs, and Autogenomic Labs have confirmed the PNDV-1d variant is now the dominant strain in the county. Currently, more than 65% of residents have tested positive for infection with at least one strain of PNDV-1 virus. Death rates have climbed to 25% within 3 weeks of infection.   There is no capacity available in our hospitals. At this time, we have mandated that patients diagnosed as infected with PNDV-1d be treated simply with palliative care. Other strains will be monitored, but the prognosis for these cases remains highly pessimistic.   Due to these circumstances, the county has no choice but to implement the following restrictions, effective immediately:

  • A curfew is in place from Sunset to Sunrise daily. During the curfew hours, only emergency personnel are authorized to be out on the streets, All others are required to shelter-in-place to minimize contact and further spread.

  • The curfew will be strictly enforced. Looters will be met with deadly force, and curfew violators will be held in the general population of the county jail.

  • The World Defense Organization will be providing troops in biological containment suits and will act as both law enforcement and medical staff. Those needing urgent medical assistance must call the Prestone County Health Department Help Line to request assistance.

  • To ensure reliability for data and voice communications between medical and law enforcement staff, connections leading out of Prestone county will be severely throttled. You may experience very slow data communications and unreliable voice communication.

  • Schools will remain open for the time being. Students will be required to wear a mask at all times. In addition, any student with a symptom will be sent home immediately and a remote option will be made available. Along with the Prestone County School Board, we believe students benefit most by having a teacher in person.

  • Supplies coming into the county have been severely disrupted. Those hoarding and price gouging will be arrested and held until arraignment in the county jail.

  • The restriction on travel is still in place. No citizen of Prestone nor any visitor to the county may leave the county until further notice. We highly discourage anyone from trying to enter. Because of the severity of the virus, the WDO has placed troops along county borders to enforce the travel restrictions. Deadly force has been authorized against any who willfully attempt to violate the quarantine zone.

  • We regret that we must move to these restrictions. This virus is dangerously deadly, and no effort should be spared in stopping its spread.
