I'm going on an adventure!

I was quite fed up staying in the library all the time. Don't get me wrong, I _love_ the library, and I love the adorable Oghma priests. But it's been over three years! I need to get out and see the world. I understand Nadia is worried, I would be too! But I can handle myself. I've been practicing a lot since I got my carpet from the monastery, and I think I'm quite as capable, if not more, than before 'the incident'. Nadia says I'm too reckless. How can I get to know curious things if I'm not a bit reckless? She's a sweetheart. I love her so much. I think that is the best choice I have made in my life, to be Mrs Nadia Deedee.   Anyway, I talked to her yesterday, and she reluctantly agreed I should check the poster board. Which I did, this morning, and what a discovery I made! An old colleague, the cat lady Misse also looked for work, as did that horny genasi Em, and two druids, an elf and a purple tiefling, such marvellous creatures both! We decided to band together and check out the posting of some missing people. It turns out Athena Rasheed is missing. That is... ominous, somehow. I have never met her, but she seems a very capable lady. Apparently she had led an expedition south to check out rumours about missing people being spotted. Only a few had come back, not wanting to talk. Obviously we went to talk to them, and through Em's magic one of them told us the had run away, as they were attacked by something crawling out of the cracks. The missing people, and one of them with purple eyes. I have never heard of such a thing! Oh well, there have been stories of that place, of course, people coming back from the dead and the like, but nothing for about a century. This is interesing times for sure!   We decided to travel south to check it out. Nadia tried to not look too worried, but I can see right through her. I feel kind of bad, going off. But I will wither away here. The journey was uneventful, I pointed out some interesting sites and lectured on the philosophy of the Order of the Azure Horizon, but I'm not sure how much they actually listened.   We reached the crack in the afternoon. There were 4 raised stones, or pillars if you like, carved with tentacles, circumfering the pillar. Not very well made, certainly not compared to what old carvings you can find around here. I should try to date them. By the edge of the crack there were dragmarks from blood, and the others spotted a shell-like form of the cliff wall. I couldn't help but go down to look at it, and was I flabbergasted by the sight! Quite extraordinary! A nautilous, the legendary ship of the Illithid, the mind flayers, crashed into the rock - uncovering a cave in the stone. How I long to excavate that cave! But the others convinced me it's wiser to go to inquire in the village first... I guess they're right.
