Summertide

Summertide is a colorful and bustling East Jirithkaen coastal town on an island just off the coast of Pelatoria.

Tourism

The town's entire economy revolves around catering to wealthy tourists and vacationing nobles who want to let loose and forget about their responsibilities for a week or two. The streets are lined with theaters, restaurants, shops, bars, and gambling halls.

Summertide is just as bright and active at night as it is during the daytime. Electric lights shine in store windows at all hours, and colored lanterns illuminate the crowded streets of nighttime revelers.

Summertide is also the home of the Petal Eaters, one of many small cults that revere the Archdemon Eri. Some claim that the Archdemon of Roses themselves has set up a permanent residence in the town, but this has never been confirmed. The Petal Eaters are some of the most wild revelers in an already chaotic town of pleasure seekers. Although they openly revere an Archdemon, the group has never performed any crimes beyond drunken vandalism, and most visitors consider them to be an extreme but relatively harmless group.

Architecture

The architecture of Summertide is bright and varied. Most buildings are constructed with colorful painted stone and wood in a variety of styles from across the empire. The streets are paved with red brickwork that never seem to be completely cleared of discarded bits of street food and broken bottles. Vines spread across many of the stone walls, and native palm trees and exotic flowers are planted throughout the city.

Geography

Summertide is located on a large island just off the coast of East Jirithkae. It is far enough way from the mainland to feel remote and refreshing to visitors, yet close enough that the town can easily import any supplies it needs.

The town itself is built right along the beach looking out into the nearby bay. Its white sandy beaches and brilliant blue waters are what originally made the town such a renowned tourist attraction.
