The Honor Guard of Heodar interfered with Theren's efforts to save his king. Brimbaria took this as a action against the brimbarian nation. Tensions would rise very quickly.

During Theren's journey across Brimbaria, he had a run in with Heodar's Honor Guard. He was detained, and nearly lost the cult's trail. When Viara told her king of this, he took it as a direct action by Heodar to compromise the safety of Brimbaria's king.   While Viara tried to explain that this was not the case, she was ignored. Tensions rose between Brimbaria, and Heodar very quickly. The draconic nations refused to step in this time, as to avoid a repeat of what had happened over two hundred years ago. They would closely observe the event, as to be ready if their war ever got too close to the southern landmass. They did so through sending their archers to perform reconnaissance. All trade stopped, all political relations were frozen until one side would confess that the other was wrong.   Eventually, Heodar turned to Midor for support, but they refused to be anything more than a neutral party if they were to get involved. Brimbaria, and Heodar entered a state of cold war. Troops from both sides were lining up along their borders, ready to charge when given the order. Both waited for the other to make the first move. They waited for nearly two years. For two years, soldiers waited along the borders.   Eventually, the troops from both sides were called back. This ended the cold war between the two, but it did not stop the distrust, and aggressive interaction. The draconic nations no longer saw need to watch the central landmass, and stopped all reconnaissance. The archers returned safely to Doh'garus. The event left a bad reputation for both Heodar, and Brimbaria as potential warmongers in the near future. The other nations faced their distrust toward them. Political interactions were never the same between them.
