The Zadrimmi Empire

The Kingdom of Zadrim settled itself in the scorching desert later renamed the Zadrimmir sands. In it’s centre they built a colossal city surrounding a tower scraping the skies, using Sunstones they mined from deep in the sands, they increased their technology tenfold harnessing the sun for power, their arrogance for power doomed them eventually, after their contact with Kasamar.

Structure

The Empire of Zadrim was one of Humanities largest Kingdom until it's collapse after the Zadrim Incident, before then they were one of the most economically powerful and scientificly advanced kingdoms on Esten and were even beginning to compete with the elves in their knowledge of the world.   Maharaja: At the very top of the of the Empires structure stands the Maharaja. The Maharaja is the supreme ruler of the Zadrimmi Empire and its political leading figure, no law or choice is made for the empire as a whole without it passing before their eyes and being aproved. Typically the Maharaja is chosen out of lineage of the ruling family, only really being voted in if the current Maharaja is not desired by the people of the nation.   The Five: Standing as a council of the wisest and most powerful individuals in the empire, they directly supervise entire sections of the nations infrastructure and power, doing their very best to advance and better it at any point as well as acting as governers of certain sections of the populace. Over time The Five have consisted of various types of members such as architects to generals, priests to wizards, martial artists to healers. The position demands nothing more than a great intuative mind to produce knowledge for use of the Empire.   Advisory Council: The Advisory council is an organization partaining 200 men and women of the brightest of minds, the people here are each responsible for remaining in contact with 7 to 8 members of the Nobility to make sure all opinions of the populace make it through to the highest chambers of government without diluting their points or opinions. The Council often draws up laws and scriptures as well as making vast choices for the Empire.   Nobility: (Often titled Raja or Menghitung) The nobles of Zadrim only include thirty or so families at best and some of them even carry their names all the way from the original tribes that banded together to form the empire itself. These are the people who, on paper alone truly own the land of Zadrim. All cities and mountains, all rivers and countrysides from the tiniest dune to the greatest statue is all upon their land, the Malhari's are the most prominent family amongst these, having lead the Empire for over a thousand years through its hardest times.   Aristocracy: (Often titled Walikota or Begzada) The true political wolfnest of the Empire is located within the Aristocracy, containing the various Walikota or Begzada who rule sections of land and decide how their local populace lives, these people are responsible for taking in opinions, keeping towns in order and regulating produce of arms, food and materials. These people are often town mayors or local lords, religious leaders or the like.   Citizen - Advanced Caste: (Knights - Merchants - Guild leaders) A section of the populace which is treated with special curtsies above others, these are often powerful individuals in service to the empire, from the local merchant lords to guild leaders and Knights of the military, these individuals have in their time proven themselves to be valuable assets to the empire and have been rewarded with servants, houses and coin.   Citizen - Basic Caste: (Workers - Warriors - Scholars) The second most common and widespread of the populace, these are the people who go about their day bettering the empire through work and effort, fighting in its military or empowering its thoughts. Often religious organizations, worker unions and armies fall within this caste, having basic living rights in exchange for their services to the empire.   Citizen - Lower Caste: (Slaves - Servants) Often seen as the lesser folk of the empire, these are men and women who were either captured and forced to servitude for disobeying the law or were born in to slavery and have simply lived as such for their entire existance. Easily the largest population as it almost tripples the Basic Caste in numbers, these are the tireless workers and servants who are given little to no spendage in trade for hard labour. This tradition is often seen as backwards by the other nations however the Zadrimmi have little need or care to change it.

Public Agenda

The Nation of Zadrim has often been zealously focussed on the advancement of technology, religion and magic. They have long saught the most powerful artifacts and wisest of scholars to work tirelessly on improving their nation, they were the first nation to implement things like long distance teleportation, long distance communication orbs and even nation wide defense mechanisms.

Assets

The Nation of Zadrim is by far the richest of all the nations. Heaps of diamonds and mountains of gold are set to line the tombs of their ancient Maharaja's. Their great warriors and lords have swords encrusted with diamonds like they're silver streaks. Their navy is also one of the most powerful ones to have ever roamed the open oceans and their vast construct legions backed up with a rigorously trained army ensured they could always defend their wealth.

Demography and Population

The total populace of Zadrim averaged around 4.034.206 people, not including commerce bringing in traders and temporary visitors which may bump it up to 6 million. Due to their outstanding healthcare and the use of magic the people who live in Zadrim live long and healthy lives often free of discease.

Territories

The Zadrimmi Empire have control over The Land of Eternal Sun, a scorching hot desert land bordering the ocean on nearly all fronts and a massive river on the other. A vast array of jagged mountain ranges line various edges of the kingdom leaving only parts of it exposed to ground level and sea level

Military

The Imperial Military is one of the most elite and powerful conglomeration of soldiers known to Humankind. Standing strong at 23 Armies with 10.000 men in each, with 8 of those armies being naval based and the other 15 being primarily land based they stand as one of the most powerful nations to ever roam Esten. Within a single army of 10.000 stand 10 Legions of 1000 men and within those 10 Batallions of 100 men.   The Zadrimmi Military often identifies their rank by the insignia positioned over their hearts on their armour, their shields are also marked by rank.   Panglima Tertinggi: (Field Marshal -1 in each army - Golden Trimmed shield with four spiralling suns around a Crowned Golden Pyramid.) The Highest title obtainable within the Imperial Military and only granted to the individuals leading the armies, there are only 23 of these men and women and each has a seat within the Advisory council. Often promoted for their legendary skill in battle, overwhelming intelligence and their strategic prowess the Field Marshal's are the brains behind the military and no army moves without their initial orders.   Umum: (General - 1 in each army - Golden Trimmed shield with four Spiralling suns around a Crowned Silver Pyramid.) Second Highest rank within the Imperial army and often the right hand man of the Field Marshal, these men and women often become close friends and sometimes a near family like bond with their Field Marshal in order to think as one. They are military strategists and often get chosen because they have vastly different views to the Field Marshal. This is to always have the opposite point of view analyzed before any choice is made.   Panglima: (Commander - 10 in each army - Silver Trimmed Shield with four Spiralling Suns around a Silver Pyramid.) The Lieutenant Generals are in charge of the ten sections of each army, deviding the total of 10.000 men in to 10 sections of 1000 men to be easier to handle on the battlefield and in organizational methods. These generals lead their sections in battle and over long campaigns are responsible for correspondense to the Field Marshal. Often times these   Sersan: (Sergeant - 100 in each army - Brass Trimmed Shield with four Spiralling Suns around a Silver Pyramid.) Alike the Lieutenant Generals these men are the officers who further command the 10 Batallions of 100 men that make up the 1000 of a single Legion. Tactical and cunning the Sergeants often lead the charge or master the defense of smaller objectives in a battlefield. They are often gifted horses or Battle Chameleons as reward for attaining the rank.   Nakhoda: (Captain - 500 in each army - Brass Trimmed Shield with four Spiralling Suns around a Brass Pyramid.) The captains of the Imperial military, these are platoon leaders who have 20 men in their charge and there are 5 of them per 100 troops. They are the subsidiary leaders on the field and make sure that each unit moves according to plan. They befriend their troops and often are seen as a paternal or maternal figure by their troops, their guardian who will sheperd them through the battles ahead.   Bujang: (Footmen rank, numbers can vary - Bronze Trimmed Shield with Four Spiralling Suns around a Brass Pyramid.) The Bujang are the footmen of the army, every single soldier on the front lines carry the rank of Bujang and all start out as one. While there are specialised troops such as archers, cavalry, artillery crews and caster regiments the Bujang stand as the front and face of the Imperial Military.   Aside from these strict ranks there are also specialised and legendary troops amongst the army who have been given their own rank and titles as well as operating seperate from many of the armies that exist in the Imperial Military. These are stated below.   Pedang Api: (A Cavalry unit of 100 Chameleon riders.) The Swords of Fire are a unit of lightly armoured duel sword wielding cavalrymen, they are known to use their mounts camouflage like abilities to scuttle over the dunes of the desert in order to sneak up to an enemy. Once close they will ignite their blades and engage in a furious charge of high pitched war screams and flaming swords. Known to decimate entire units battle formations on their own, the Pedang Api are a battle legend to be feared.   Pedang Bumi: (A heavily armoured spear and shield unit of 100 men.) The Swords of Earth are the personal bodyguard of the Maharaja and never leave his side, they are the only people along with The Five who have access to the highest levels of the golden Pyramid and are both protector and servant to the Maharaja. They are known to wear heavy plate and long winding drapes as well as longbows, tower shields and poleaxes adorned with Sunstone. They have mastery over the earth and can move through sand like it is water and even passing through stone like moving through mud. This makes them great defenders as they can literally come out of the walls.   Pedang Air: (A lightly armoured shortbow assassins unit of 100 men.) The Swords of Water are an elite naval unit of bowmen and a strike team in naval situations. Going around on great armoured Manta's they glide just below the surface to occassionally pop up for air. Shooting down enemy ship captains or sabotaging ship rudders to sneaking aboard a ship in the dead of night to asssassinate its entire crew, these men and women are amongst the deadliest assassins in the world.   Pedang Angin: (A caster regiment on chariots and constructs of 100 men.) The Pedang Angin are by far the most heavy duty of all the Pedang regiments. Each of them is a powerful caster in destructive and empowering magics, riding around the battlefield atop mighty stone sphinxes and scorpions, charriots and battle platforms. They are known to cast spells that decimate entire front lines or empower the swords of entire batallions with crackling arcane energy or even to heal a hundred men's grievous injuries mid fight.

Technological Level

The Zadrimmi Empire is by far the most advanced human nation to have ever existed. Commonly known for having sentient constructs to rival the elves, commercialising Air ship travel before any human nation right alongside the dwarves and discovering the stars with advanced astrology.

Religion

The people of Zadrim are known for being open to many religions, almost none are shunned or forbidden within their society except the worship of any of the chaos gods. The largest following integrated in to their society os the Church of Draght the fire god. They associate with the beliefs due to the burning sands around them, fire is the drive to overcome all and come out on top similair to the people overcoming their harsh enviroment.   Aside from that they communicate with the dead on multiple occasions using the powers granted to their Necropriests by Lord Necros the Dead. A heavy emphasis on ancestry with the desire to keep old knowledge perserved sees them using rituals to speak to the dead for multiple aspects of their society, an example would be temporarily summoning the spirit of the politician who enacted a policy long ago to question his logics, and to debate with him about the correct course of action in the current political climate.   And just as they believe the light of the sun grants them power so do they believe that the darkness associated with it can do so as well. Worship of Khurtan the Shadow Dragon is widespread lesser than the other two religions however it is still a major aspect of their faith. Many of their priests and casters dabble in shadow magic in order to gain power, it is often associated with priests and assassins who handle in the night.

Foreign Relations

The Zadrimmi Empire stands amongst the five Kingdoms that are part of the Kingdom of Humanity. A free market and equal treatment of kingdom citizens is employed.

Agriculture & Industry

By far the Zadrimmi Empire is known for its produce of constructs and magical mechanations. From man sized servant constructs to aid in day to day activities to great war statues that terrorise the battlefields, the Zadrimmi sold their constructs tailored to request and at high prices. And with the already magical nature of Sunstone to their availabillity their constructs were not simply stone made animated but often had their own arrange of powerful spells and energy beams.   They also had a free range section of their military which would hire itself out as mercenaries to larger organizations. Famously so are the Regiment of Pedang Bumi who were trained and purchased by Komarov industries as a gift to the Dwarvish King Bolton in his early years.

Trade & Transport

The great deserts of Zadrim are incredibly difficult to traverse thanks to the roaming beasts and bandit groups that lurk around every dune. Howevere there are several large rivers which cut up chunks of Zadrim and allow great transport ships for both people and supplies to be run to major port cities and temples across the land. From there the transport continues on vaguely laid roads by cart although more common are the supply balloons which are operated in mass to transports good via the skies.

Education

Due to their extreme focus on magic, technology and education the average Zadrimmi populace is well educated to a degree where they can acomplish anything they wish. This is done by mandatory and yet free admittance to schools until the age of 24, by which any student of the system will have a fully fledged career skillset ready to deploy in the wider world. Scholars from all over the world come to Zadrim to discuss and theorize, navigate the stars in spiritual journeys and travel to the other planes.

Infrastructure

Due to its desert like nature there are few villages out in the wild sands however the cities that exist have well constructed Aquaducts and sewage systems, pristine roads combined with mega-roads leading from city to city allow for fast transportation of any product or person. Bordering the Empire are vast mountain ranges which offer natural borders to the wider world, as well as the vast river that runs between it and the mainland of Esten. This allows the empire to keep total vigilance on their border and only accept those they wish. No army could sneak in to their country as there are only 2 land entrances and all other ports run in to cities they control.   There is a massive network of Statues of the first Maharani Kassandra the Burnt lining the less traveled sides of the county's border, these stattues contain their own garrison of construct soldiers, a set of magical detection wards and Sunstone battle crystals that can sink entire galleons on the river. This network was built by Kassandra herself and is her lasting legacy, it is known as "The Burnt Wall".
