Fosuth

There are two forms of this creature: The Greater Fosuth and The Lesser Fosuth. The Greater Fosuth lives in the mountain range separating Daistia from The Other Lands. The Lesser Fosuth is found in the waters within and surrounding Daistia.   The fosuth are very territorial against other species. They normally hunt alone but will gather together if they sense another creature entering their mountains. If you see a fosuth, it is best for you to turn back the way you came. It's said they will leave you be if you retreat calmly. Otherwise, it will eat you.

Basic Information

Anatomy

This creature has four legs and a tail. It has a large tusk on each side of the bottom jaw. The tail has three consecutive spikes that are, in total, about the size of its head.   Due to its environment, the Fosuth has adapted its paws using magic. When needed, the paws can become hooves, claws, and maybe even hands.

Biological Traits

Lesser Fosuth

This is an aquatic version of the mountain beast. It is half as tall but the same length, and has an average lifespan of only 25 years. Its magical paws allow it to create fins instead of legs. It lives in both freshwater and saltwater, traveling through the rivers and around the sea.

Ecology and Habitats

This creature lives in a mountainous region with some volcanic activity. Because of this, it has developed a rough, thick outer skin, akin to elephant hide.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Carnivorous   It uses the spikes on its tail to injure its prey. It uses its tusks if the prey - or a rival fosuth - gets in front of it.

What I want to improve:

  • Your suggestions are welcome
  • My husband didn't fully understand what I asked for when he drew the pictures, so I'm going to update the pictures later.
