Seafloor gifting

The Seafloor gifting is an event happening every a few years, surroudning the Kliras islands, that started happening a few years after the dawn of magic. It always happens at night, or at least, it can only be seen in teh nights, when the sun has set and the moon shines overhead.

The day that happens the eevent cannot seemingly be redicted. When it happens, after the sun has set, hundreds if not thousands of shiny dots start floating from the depths of the ocean. These dots will slowly surface and end up being washed ashored. The dots are in truth weird small precious stones that have a slimey touch until they are cleaned up. They also have phosphorecence but that part seems to be tied to the slimey touch, which also causes itchiness on the skin.

People from the island spend the late night on the beaches. They wait until there doesn't seem to bbe more incoming "gifts" and then start gathering them with caution. The rocks are covered in a slimy substance that makes the skin/scales/fur itchy, so people have most their bodies covered.

Once the stones are gathered, these are left in water (non-sea water) buckets until the sunrise. And people go sleep a bit meanwhile. After that, still with tehir bodies protected, they wash away all the slimy subtance of the stones. This leaves the people with a pretty precious stone, similar to a pearl but usually of neon colors (that don't shine in the dark anymore).

No one know where these stones come from, what excatly are tehy, why they appear or why they started appearing after the dawn, but they are used injewelry and are an important export from Kliras towards the rest of Iphars. Since it's an export, most people from Kliras don't have jewelry out of these stones, only rich or important people have, and they buy it themselves.
