The ashtarian belhan is an aquatic mammal from the old world of Ashtara. It used to live near Siren community and, while it seemed to like Sirens and living with them, they were an apex predator of their area, as they ahd the advantage of a great control of water magic that they used for their advantage while hunting and on fights.
When Ashtara collided with Iphars, many of these creature died in the process even though many Sirens (who also suffered a lot on their numbers) tried their best to save as many of them possible.
For tehir closenest to the Sirens and their magical abilities, tehse creatures were seen constantly in myths, legend,s and stories as symbols of power and control.
When the creatures got to iphars, with an alarming small number of individual lefts, two things happened with the individuals:
They quickly evolved into Ipharian belhan thanks to magic corruption
Had to change their hunting technics plus change their foods to adapt to iphars' creatures.
To the belhan that didnt turn into ipharian belhans, they had to learn to hunt wihtout magic, as the magic from iphars was too wild to control and most the time they got hurt rather than helped when using the magic.
These creatures, while used to live in deep oceans and away from people, have adapted to live in shallower waters and close to the lasts groups of sirens around the world. The sirens still have them as creatures of power and control and thus will help them and protect when needed, as they have also suffered consequences for going to live in iphars and them surviving is more than enough demonstration that they are still powerful.
They used to have a yearly kid, but that has changed to one every few years, as parents cannot survive if they try to take care of many children and if they let the children go live on their own as soon as they used to do in ashtara, they are more probable to die than if they stay a year or two more with their parents.
