So because the soldiers are used to being near the river, they stick around after they retire?

First of all; thanks alot for stopping by and going the extra mile of translating the article on your own (I've just done that with google translator aswell and although some details went missing the translation seems to work mostly fine) In regards to your question: similiar to a time in the roman empire where seasoned soldiers have been given a plot of land so that they'd face a stable retirement, the soldiers of the "Kingdom of Grystameer" also receive such a reward once they leave the army or are being freed from other military duties: plots around the Henrykken have just been pretty popular among the first veterands, who somewhat created the tradition of settling there for centuries to come.
